Abstract
This paper deals with complex processes of ,,self-fashioning" of the new historicism and/or cultural poetics in the time when classical hierarchy of literary scholarship was created. These proccesses were of two kinds, so the paper examines, on the one hand, some of the possible relations of this literarytheory orientatiton toward other, preeceding and concurrent schools, orientations and ideas of literary theory. On the other hand, and closely linked with the latter, certain attempts can be observed of, tentatively speaking, internal profilation of this theoretical project, and ali that in order to understand today, as clear as possible, this specific theoretical idea, as well as the changes initiated or achieved in this complex area by activities of the new historicm and/or cultural poetics.
