Abstract

The Catcher in the Rye, written by an American writer Jerome David Salinger, describes in detail maturing of the 17-year old protagonist Holden Caufield, and his relationship with family members, representing the essential role in his life and generally shaping of his character. The purpose of this paper is to emphasize the importance of healthy communication and relationship between parents and children, taken from the protagonist’s point of view.
