Abstract
The paper investigates some aspects of the settlement culture in the area of the upper Neretva during the Roman rule. According to traces of population from that period, this area is among the richest in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The most common are traces of rustic villas, of which three villas in Lisičići have been best explored. They gravitated to the urban center of the upper Neretva, which was probably located in the area of Konjic. Traces of settlements from the area of today’s Jablanica and Kalinovik in the context of research of the settlement culture on the upper Neretva were also processed. True, there are to a much lesser extent than in the Konjic area. The last part of the paper includes an overview of the most important late antiquity buildings in the area of the upper Neretva.
